City of Guspini (Province of Sud Sardegna - Italy)
Guspini is a wholly mountain town of 11.844 inhabitants, located 130 meters above sea level in the Province of South Sardinia, its territory covers an area of 174,70 sq km.
Center of Campidano, in the heart of the mining region, has a beautiful church of the fifteenth century, St. Nicholas of Myra, who is the hub.
The village is interesting because in its vicinity lies the mine of Montevecchio, in the years' 50 one of the largest in Europe.
Despite the progressive abandonment, the mining village is to visit to see the architecture of the houses, the building management, the church, the leaders of the houses, the school, hospital.
In summer there are guided tours of the mine, at the direction of the building and the exhibition on the life of miners.
Montevecchio stands near the massif of Monte Arcuentu with the remains of an ancient castle.
For the feast of Santa Maria held a procession of caparisoned horses and a horse show.
